Sustainability Practices
"£100 for a pair of leggings just isn’t possible for a lot of people. It seemed that sustainability was a trendy thing so brands went, ‘we can charge a premium on that’. So I thought, let’s find a middle ground. At TALA, we sell activewear that’s 92% sustainable but the difference is, it’s affordable. We don’t want people to have to take out a loan to buy some leggings!"
- Grace Beverley, TALA founder
TALA focuses on sustainability and empowering its diverse audience. It creates on-trend staples through a unique affordable approach to sustainable fashion. Its mission is to create products that are 100% upcycled.
The majority of its garments are made of regenerated nylon or polyamide and elastane or spandex. The brand uses a fair amount of recycled materials (cotton, nylon, polyester), certified organic cotton, and man-made cellulosic fibers such as bamboo viscose and lyocell. TALA's packaging is recycled and recyclable as well.
TALA manufactures most of its clothes in Europe, Portugal, and Turkey. Clothes made of bamboo viscose are produced in Hong-Kong. It ensures responsible and environmentally friendly production with regular audits from SEDEX, SGS, Intertek, BSCI, and CNAS.
TALA doesn't sell any clothing made from animal-derived materials at the moment but doesn't confirm that the brand is 100% vegan.
Sustainability Goals
TALA doesn't have any clear goal or timeline to improve its sustainability practices in the future.
